 "Greatest slicer!" 2009-03-21

A friend has this slicer and at a dinner party we all got to try it and even the men found it easy to use and it makes a nice clean slice. It is well balanced so it doesn't tip over. Cuts even the softest of cheeses nice and thin if desired and no mess.

Only negative is that it should have a pull out try under the cutting surface to catch the mistakes made when slicing. Just leave it on a counter or serving tray and it's fine. It is dishwasher safe to easy cleanup. Highly recommend buying one.

 "love this little gadget" 2008-10-30

[I admit, I just got this little treasure, but even with my limited use I think it's wonderful-to the point that I ordered one for my son/daughter in law. So far it it slicing like a dream. I have had the wire slicers before, and though they work well, the wires always go bad. I can't see where that is going to happen with this. And on top of it all you can put in the dishwaser for cleaning. Try that with the wood/wire slicer.

The next thing that I will try is cucumbers and radishes. How about Leeks and small onions. I can think of a ton of uses for this little treasure[

Try it-I love it

 "Do not buy" 2008-09-02
By Bryon J. Rose (Oregon, USA)
I bought this hoping for a better alternative to a wire slicer, since the wires cost just as much as a new slicer. So I bought this. It is a complete waste of money. After the first slice the blade was bent and now it only cuts little tiny pieces of my cheese. If it can't slice a nice slice of cheddar it is not a cheese cutter. We kept trying to use it and just got upset every time. Now I have to go buy another cheese slice. Don't be fooled by the good reviews. Do not buy this product, it is going into my garbage.

 "Works well for me." 2008-04-12
By Kevin Flick (Las Vegas, NV)
I agree that a wire-based cutter is preferable, but it impossible to get replacement wires. I had to buy 3 wire-based cutters over the last 2 years because of this, and I decided to make a better investment with this product.

It cuts evenly, I've used it on such things as Dutch Blue Cheese, Sharp Chedder and butter straight from the fridge.

Recommended.

Finally, a cheese slicer that works without wires! While visiting my parents this summer, I asked to use a cheese slicer for a dish I was preparing, and Dad produced a this slicer that blew me away. I had to have one and was thrilled to find one on Amazon.com. This is a fabulous item, simple in design, and will last forever!
