This new 52 Liter Touchless Trashcan SX model uses the latest sensor technology and patented space saving lid opening design. As your hand or debris enter the zone 6 inches from the infrared sensor on top of the trash can, the lid will automatically slide open. No up or down lid motion means more capacity in less space. The lid will remain open if debris or hand is within the 6 inch range of the infrared sensor. 3 seconds after your hand moves away from the lid it closes automatically. At top front of the lid there are open and close buttons for manual operation, and there is a on/off power switch on the back of the trash can. The fully iTouchless Fully automatic trashcan is a great kitchen or garage helper to get rid of TRASH. The can gas a good sized receptical and can be lined with two sized trash bags. The inner ring holds either bag in place and does not allow slippage. The sliding door is a great idea and is quiet and will operate either on batteries or an AC adapter. This a a very nice looking product.
I highly recommend this item.

I ordered this product two weeks ago and it worked for a week before the lid just died out...contacted customer service and since i don't have the shipping receipt they won't do anything. I have the order invoice for the day i placed the order... and apparently they have no ability to find out who they ship merchandise out to...under a month ago, so what i'm left with is a trash can that's well....going in the trash. i suppose if you get one that works you're lucky...and if you don't...customer service isn't going to do anything about it....

I searched to find this product. I have a previously purchased one,from Tuesday Morning. After a party, helpful guests removed the bag of trash, ignorant of the fact that there was a very significant hoop inside, which allows the top edges of the bag to be folded in over the hoop so the outside appearance is attractive; no garbage bag edges hanging out as in other containers.
I was so disturbed by this loss, that now it is essential to have the bag hanging out from under the top door mechanism, that I decided to find a new one. Thanks to GOOGLE, I located it.
I have seen others where the entire top lifts up or out, but the cover on the iTouchless has a se1uential roll top, like that of an old roll top desk, which makes the opening totally free and out of the way to all deposit of trash. I LOVE IT! Patrick Matthews, Pinecrest, Florida

Unfortunately, we fell for the attractive stainless steel design and the cool lid idea. We have not gotten one bag out without a tear. Will return this and agree that Amazon should discontinue offering it.
